Blake Anthony and Wffls took a trip to New York recently and recorded a Parlor Performance brought to you by Sundae Sauuce, a platform that seeks to bring community together through music and ice cream socials. You can watch Blake perform a few songs at OddFellows Ice Cream including a couple BA classics and an unreleased joint to round it out. His backing band matches the soulful energy that Blake is delivering making for a truly beautiful performance.

Pricy – Stomp Down P
Pricy could you put me on? The artist coming out of Portland is one to always bring the party with his funky beats and bouncy flows. His latest album, Stomp Down P, sees Pricy both on the production as well as the rhymes with all but one track being produced by him. Throughout the majority of the album, his signature flow takes on a smooth, charismatic, crooner-type flow. Pricy’s sophisticated brand of floetry is not only entertaining but relatable as well. Throughout the project he discusses the dynamics of his life through a poetic lens with a groovy backdrop.
Blksknn – “Vin Diesel”
Blksknn warned me that his new music was on a whole other level, but I truly wasn’t prepared for just how dope this shit was about to be. His newest song, “Vin Diesel,” is so smooth that his lyrics glide across the OldMilk produced beat like it’s the hood of a car. In the track he admits that he ain’t too cool for school and that you’re going to see him try. I think that’s evident in the way he crafted his rhymes and was able to nestle them in the pocket perfectly. Blksknn is able to show how his growth as a person is reflected within his music with each release building on the lessons and experiences he’s had over the years. I’m STOKED to see him perform at Capitol Hill Block Party later this year!
ill Chris – “Finessin in Paris” Music Video
iLL Chris is a major inspiration to the Pacific Northwest with many years spent in the game. Over time he has made moves globally not only with his music, but multiple business endeavors over the years as well. In his latest music video, Chris is seen “Finessin in Paris” like any international entrepreneur would be doing. Like the way he dribbles down the court in the music video, Chris delivers one witty bar after another from the beginning of the track to the very end.
Wynne – “Cut & Paste” Music Video
Most recently, Portland’s Wynne linked up with EarthGang’s WowGr8 for their single “Cut & Paste.” The overall vibe is a bit more laid back than some of her recent releases with both artists delivering some raw, rough-around-the-edges verses backed by a catchy hook. They ended up shooting a DIY music video to accompany the single while EarthGang was in Portland while on tour with the Gorillaz. The end result is a dope little track that has big middle finger energy.
Chong the Nomad – “Before it Checks Out”
If you’re into quirky, electronically synthesized soundscapes that transport you to worlds you didn’t know existed, then Chong the Nomad is probably for you. Now, if you’re into classic instrumentation that’s been utilized in a clever way, Chong is probably for you as well. Even if you can’t hear at all, the energy and atmosphere that Chong creates in her latest single, “Before It Checks Out,” transcends the senses. By using osmosis, it seeps deep down into your soul for a truly cleansing listening experience. This also happens to be the first single off her upcoming album.
Lovely Colours – “Heartbeat” Music Video
After making a hard-hitting impact with their single, “Ghost,” Lovely Colours is back with a stripped-down song that explores the emotional turmoil that comes with crushing on and falling in love with someone. The simple, yet soothing melody is backed with clever lyrics like, “you control my heartbeat baby,” which make it evident to me that these guys have something sincerely special to come with their yet to be released debut album.
Campana – “Daffodil” Visualizer
Campana’s first release of the year is as refreshing as the first bloom of the springtime. His latest single, “Daffodil,” is a whimsical tale about holding on to your thoughts and ideas until it’s the right time to share. Transparently, Campana shared with us that he wrote this song back in 2016. The fact that he is only now releasing it is a testament to the longevity of his pen game. Both lyrically and sonically, the track sounds modern enough to have been written last week. With the help of Kazadi and a few folks behind the scenes, Campana was able to finally package up and deliver this little song to us.
Sam Lachow – “Lucky Lefty” Music Video
Sam Lachow is hitting us with a quick one-two on his latest single, “Lucky Lefty.” Even though it has a light-hearted quality, the heavy-hitting lyrics touch on some of the struggles Sam has gone through over the years. It’s obvious, though, that he is in a much healthier mindset nowadays with this being his third single released so far this year.
