Following the Blue Dream review on our 2020 West Coast Weed Tour, we have the Black Cherry Soda strain. Described as a Sativa dominant cut at 80/20, BCS is a cross of Cherry AK-47, Blackberry, and the Ortega strain. This strain is known for being a potent and cerebral high, and a popular choice among users looking for relief from anxiety and stress.
Right from the jump, a pungent gassy fruit smell erupted from the jar. The bud construction was another beautiful bomb nug with a dark purple hue. Loading this into the bong, my fingers got coated with a nice sticky layer of kief which is always a positive sign.
The taste was very close to what I expected, I got the gassy fruit but more on a citrus side than a berry side. The hit was smooth all the way through and even though the ash never hit the soft white I was looking for. I never got the idea the bud wasn’t cured or dried properly.
The joint definitely came with more of that berry/wine taste with a hit of spice right on the tip of the tongue. Overall for this bud I decided to give it a 7.3 out of 10, it had a solid taste and hit smooth but the potency for me isn’t what I was hoping. I can see how Black Cherry Soda helps for those just wanting something light to take the edge off but wouldn’t recommend it for someone wanting a sativa with a little more perk to it.
