Big K.R.I.T. is arguably one of the most underrated rappers in today’s rap industry. Lyrically, he’s one of the best. His songs never fail to display his unique abilities as a lyricist, producer, and storyteller. People often fail to listen or hear the actual meaning of the words being spoken by these radio station rappers because a catchy DJ Mustard beat hides their weaker abilities. When you listen to K.R.I.T. you get to hear music that tells a story worth hearing about. Stories that force you to actually PAY ATTENTION. His flow is highlighted by a unique southern Mississippi draw and he even produces the majority of his music! This November 11, K.R.I.T. releases his highly anticipated debut album, Caddilactica. Hopefully he gives us all a nice little preview when he comes to Showbox at Pike Place Market on Monday, October 27. His concert will also feature two of Seattle’s most talented artists, Porter Ray and DJ Swervewon. These two local musicians have been grinding for years as part of the rap and nightlife community and are sure to provide quality performances to keep us all entertained.

If you have absolutely no idea who Big K.R.I.T. is then check out the song at the bottom and comment on this post whether or not you like the verse from K.R.I.T (he’s not the singer) and why. Also, I came across this interview that K.R.I.T. did with Rolling Stone and I highly recommend giving it a read if you’re a fan like me.
