2020 brought the most entries we have ever had on the West Coast Weed Tour from Oregon. A state that is known for quality genetics and an oversupply of cannabis, Oregon’s best strains for this year’s tour included some heavy-hitters along with some great-tasting buds.
Here is our official list featuring the best weed in Oregon from our 2020 West Coast Weed Tour.
Best Weed In Oregon 2020
Runtz From Re Up Farms
The buds were rather small but what they lacked in size, they made up for in the amount of trichome coverage and deep green hues with purple peeking through. This batch of Runtz smelled great right when I opened the jar, and an overwhelmingly sweet fruity smell hit my nose properly earning its name.
Moonbow #112 by Archive Seedbank
A Moonbow strain was also entered from Archive in California. This pre-roll burned perfectly and immediately this one burned the nostrils and hit you in the chest.
Cheetah Piss by Archive Genetics and The Heights Co
Popping open the container and rolling the nugs into my hands left me surprised. The coloring and the amount of trichomes on each piece of weed reminded me of photos I used to see in High Times, now they’re all on Instagram. Forest green pieces of weed with a thick layer of frosty trichomes rested perfectly in my hands. The texture of the weed felt as if I was squeezing small stones between my fingers.
Triangle Kush by Resin Ranchers
The first hit of the Triangle Kush continues to remind Erin and Riley of the classic OG Kush. The smoke is clean without a harsh burn. The full-body high leaves Erin feeling super relaxed. The strain is known for its relaxing effects and has also been said to stimulate creativity.
Sour Tangie by Cloud Cover
The smell might be my favorite part of the Sour Tangie strain. A combination of citrus and the classic sour diesel aroma. Both of these smells entice the nostrils and cause you to want more. The barrage of smells on your nostrils cannot be resisted.
Peanut Brittle by Three Flavors Farms
The flavor of the smoke was similar to peanut butter with a little bit of cannabis mixed in. Imagine making yourself some firecrackers. The high was especially relaxed and sedative. Between the Platinum Girl Scout Cookies and Peanut Butter Breath, this strain retains the best qualities of both.
Wookie Girl 91 by Cloud Cover
This might be my favorite looking strain from Cloud Cover. Tight pieces of cannabis cling around the stems. Each nug feels like a solid piece of weed. There isn’t much squish in the cannabis when I squeeze pieces between my fingers. Dark shades of green and purple give the weed an almost gray appearance. Wookie Girl would easily vanish on my carpet or in a dark corner of my bedroom.
Larry Mints by Left Coast Farms
Bits of cannabis stuck to my fingers as I broke apart the cannabis. I hadn’t seen sticky cannabis in a bit, I was excited. Left Coast Growers infused a delicious minty flavor into this strain that is unlike any mint strain I’ve had experience with. They did a damn good job. My mood elevated as Travis Thompson’s Ambaum album played through my speakers.
Purple Zkittlez by Rosebud Growers
Rosebud Growers produced some FIRE Purple Zkittlez. I believe it’s a cross between Purple Punch and Zkittles—it produced a sour berry aroma that blew me away. The smoke was gassy which created an incredibly robust experience overall. The smell is a combination of pine and berry creating a magnificent smell.
Smacks by Doghouse Cannabis
Smacks is an in-house strain from Doghouse Cannabis. It crosses Scooby Snacks and MAC. Doghouse operates in both Oregon and Washington. The weed is potent enough to stink up a room if left out on a desk. The Smacks strain looks plain from a distance, but closer inspection reveals layers of trichomes.
