Bendi Is A Spokane Artist With A Vision That Stretches Way Beyond Music

Bendi is a 24-year-old hip-hop artist from Spokane, Washington. He has a very diverse style that integrates fast-paced hip-hop, lo-fi, and R&B. He simply calls this combination “flow-hop” and has been stamping the city with this signature while building a solid fan base.

As a positive and energetic person, Bendi carries that onto the stage with him. He loves to include the audience and hype the crowd to create an infectious energy. He recently dropped his EP, “I Need Space” and has his hands in several other things as well.

Skeemn Entertainment

Bendi also owns Skeemn Entertainment. Through this, he will throw shows and promote other events. But, what’s most important to Skeemn’s identity is that it looks to help people express themselves through art. Not just hip-hop, but literally anything.

Want to open a food truck? Dope. Want to start a clothing line? Do it. Skeemn is a lifestyle about trying to create something out of nothing and have it burst out into the world. Bendi does a lot on his own but for this one, he has to give a shout out to Travis Seek.

Building A Community

Bendi went to North Idaho University at the age of 18. There, he met other notable local artists Past Life Kenny, YP, as well as the producer known as Sherm. Collaborations are a huge part of Bendi’s work. He loves his people, but creating with others and finding a common ground is something he loves even more.

Passionate and sincere to his community and career, he has dedicated much of his time towards creating new content on the regular. Filming and editing videos for YouTube, organizing music events, and always studying and improving his work. Bendi is exploring the infinite possibilities from creation within himself and his community.

His newest project, “I Need Space,” is a 5 track EP that was made to show the process of rekindling the connection that you have with yourself. Inner reflection, taking time to learn yourself and connect to who you are is instrumental for coming into symbiosis with balance and health.

“I Need Space” EP

“I Need Space” is a double entendre of obviously needing actual space but it also eludes to an out in space concept. Part of Bendi’s identity is this concept of being a Northwest Alien. He doesn’t think he’s an “actual” alien but he uses the concept to promote standing out. Expressing himself and being different is what Bendi does best and he wants the world to be comfortable enough to do the same.

The lead single for this EP is “On My Own.” This was Bendi’s first time experimenting with singing. It has a wavy fun beat with fast rapping and a catchy hook that rides smooth like butter. The message in this song is blunt but it’s a good one. Simply put, you gotta figure shit out on your own. Don’t be a victim of your surroundings, you can control what you do next, just figure out what you want to do.
