Unsurprisingly, Bartier Bounty 2 is another tour-de-force by Sada Baby, Detroit local and 2-step king. The man has been out here making bangers for years, never quite in the mainstream, but easily taking millions after millions of views for himself. Now another project has been dropped and is literally littered with fire tracks.
You have to start Bartier Bounty 2 with “150/55” featuring G Herbo. A gorgeous beat is traded between two of the hottest rappers in the game, mixed and mastered to perfection. Our heroes aren’t try-hards, and instead, they just fill out the whole track with bar-after-bar rattled off before the smoke can clear. One of the smoothest songs of the summer.
Bartier Bounty 2 is True to Sada Baby’s Form
You can’t go wrong with this album. Bartier Bounty was one of the best modern drops out of Detroit, and Bartier Bounty 2 might even be better. It opens up with “HALF MAN HALF APE” which is a subdued and honest threatening track that shows the fun, skill, and atmosphere Skub is famous for.
With another track, “Kourtside” featuring Lil Yachty, Sada comes together to unite the Midwest. The man keeps dropping videos for banger after banger, and you gotta just keep up to date on YouTube to catch up with all of Sada’s videos. Ranging from the hilarious chorus of “Trap Withdrawals” to the relentless “FreeJig,” Sada is at the top of his form. 2020 or not, fuck a quarantine, the liquor store still open. Detroit doesn’t take nights off, we’re just hungover Monday. “BILLIE Holiday” featuring DeJ Loaf is also a highpoint worth noting, along with Skub and Baptism.
As always, Sada’s beats on Bartier Bounty 2 are some of the best rap has to offer. He’s unafraid to stretch from steel drums to guitar chords from within the trap genre, and it only ends up working in his favor. Bang this album front to back at least once and you won’t be sorry.
