B. Cole first hit our radar in March when he made our top 10 in rotation list. Ever since we first heard ‘So Cinematic’ we’ve been on the look out for his debut EP, Riches Define Hustle. While hailing from a city usually known for boom bap, Cole grew up inspired by a different sound. Still a fan of Jake One, he also grew up influenced by classic Seattle street music which is prevalent in his sound.
“Seattle anthems with a heavy hitting classic southern seasoning. The gumbo of RDH, is for listeners that ride with a system on max.”
Seattle anthems with a heavy hitting classic southern seasoning. The gumbo of RDH, is for listeners that ride with a system on max. There truly isn’t a lot of artist in B. Cole’s lane and it’s a beautiful thing that our region can have this many sounds.
I sat down with B. Cole a few days before the release and chopped it up about the process and inspiration for ‘Riches Define Hustle’. Check that interview out below and make sure to check out his project.
