Moor Gang’s Steezie NASA drops his newest mix tape Trap Alien. This has some hard jams! I’m tired of people saying Seattle doesn’t put out
Mikey Vegaz (#OV3) goes in over an instrumental off J. Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive on ‘January 12th.’ It should be widely noted that Mikey is one of my favorite rappers from the Northwest and should never be slept on, but this jam is dope. Mikey combines bars, stunting, and dropping some life jewels all in one. This is a leak off the upcoming Oregoon Vol. 3 (which we will have when it drops!).
Producer and instrumentalist, Kevin Lavitt, releases his first release from his upcoming self-produced debut project ‘Planets’ entitled “Night Is Over” featuring long time friend and collaborator Sam Lachow. This is a nice smooth jam that fans of Lachow and music will dig, check it out!
Kanye West Grammys 2015…more about it! Another guy talking about Kanye West on my news feed? WHEN WILL IT END!? Was this perfectly engineered by
Kendrick Lamar comes through with a new BANGER with ‘Blacker The Berry’ and leaves it full of nothing but substance. This track should infiltrate your entire skull. Not only should your head be nodding but you should also open your mind to the negative social constructs still in effect. As always Kendrick brings his thoughts full purpose with offering multiple views of the same themes, while rapping his ass off.
New weekly YouTube series from Portland’s Illmaculate titled ‘Hazy Sundaze.’ Illmac has made a name for himself as a force to be reckoned with in the battle arena, but dude makes some dope music outside of lyrically ripping heads off in the ring. The track toward the end of the video for example, the one saying ‘roll you up so I can smoke you down’ or whatever…psssh, sounds FIRE!
Ok this is a MUST WATCH! Holy crap (I think I may have). I am a quite a few years removed from my skateboard/snowboard past life and every time I check up on whats “in” I am simply mind blown. This compilation of the best tricks of 2014 is utterly CRAZY! Check it out via Snowboard TV
My inbox is usually crowded, but every time I get something from my homie Ver$ace Van Londen I get a slight tingle. Not only do I love to see people I like further their craft, I like seeing dope things! Ver$ace has been one of the few videographers who has been up’ing his game with each release (the slow motion and speedy clips are CLEAN) and always doing something different, and he has also been working with a ton of different artists. The Northwest has always been known for ‘boom-bap’ and while I love this genre sometimes I want to nod my head to something with a little more bounce and Rasheed Jamal does that with ‘Dope Tape.’ Keeping the track without ignorance but giving you that ignant head nod ‘feel.’
Michael Zoah (FKA PropaneLv) releases a new banger alongside D.Shuts with ‘Body.’ Michael and D.Shuts continually find a way to upgrade their sound and ‘Body’ is exactly that. This joint will fill a vacant spot on any club Dj’s playlist right now!
Seattle’s Nacho Picasso releases a new record ‘Sex Drugs & Rock-n-Roll’ and the visual is exactly what you would expect from a Nacho song with this title. The track is produced by BSBD and Eric G.
Raz Simone finished his Cognitive Dissonance release with the final product! The time has come to grab the whole project for free at Raz Simone’s website. Raz did an interesting marketing strategy by releasing one track from the project a week to build some hype for the follow up to his 2014 Cognitive Dissonance Part I.
Seattle’s Thaddeus David links up with his Portland connect TOPE for the visual to ‘Blackjack.’ This is a joint off Thaddeus’s Untitled EP he dropped with Stewart Villain last year.

Javier Morin Jr. x Panoramic dreams brings a dope cypher from some of the dopest artist currently living on the East Side of WA state. Although Eastern Washington hip-hop has been slept on for a while these Yakima and Seattle-to-Spokane transplant artists are doing things in a major way! From touring and performing at numerous colleges and local venues, all these guys have BARS! Hopefully we can see more of a connect between the West-East side of the state in the future!

The track is off the forthcoming ‘Golden Era themed EP’ Hanif did with 5th Sequence titled Twelve Inch Vinyls. You can catch Hanif on the upcoming Pete Rock x Slum Village tour, check out dates here.
