Asian Doll is back with a 21-song mixtape, titled Let’s Do A Drill. The tape takes on the popular NY gritty style drill sound similar to the likes of Bizzy Banks, Pop Smoke and Fivio Foreign. Last summer, the Dallas born rapper found an instant hit with hard-hitting “Nunnadet Shit”. Asian Doll isn’t new to gritty street-rap, originally releasing her first single “On A Mission” in 2016.
Many rap fans try to negate her status in the game, crediting her style to her past relationship with the late rapper King Von, and other rappers she has collaborated with in the past. However, Asian Doll has stood ten toes on her pen and music. Despite dealing with constant criticism and her departure from Gucci’s 1017 label, Asian Doll is back and better than ever. In my opinion, she is in her bag right now and shines in her renewed sound on Let’s Do A Drill. She is unapologetic, has high energy and is raw.

Asian Doll New Album Let’s Do A Drill
In “Exposing Me,” Asian stands on her bravado about how she is ready for anything or anyone who comes for her. I was well entertained, being present in the moment while the listening of the mixtape. It has little to no skips. Some of my favorite tracks were “Rock,” “Wait,” “Get Jumped,” “Down South” (ft. Tay Money) and “Viral”. As a fan of female rappers, I’m stoked Asian is back rapping and releasing music consistent after dealing with so much backlash. Let’s Do A Drill is solid release and I recommend to anyone who loves strong women or drill music.
