Back in February 2016 it was announced that 30 producers from the Pacific Northwest were joining together to create the ‘Anomaly Music Collective’. Some of my favorite local producers began releasing new music through this collective on March 1st and they started things off with a bang thanks to a project with 22 tracks.
Volume One featured some awesome tunes from a some of my favorite Northwest producers: Kozmo, Qreepz, Rome, Jakzon, and SixFour.
My favorite songs came from Qreepz and Jakzon but every track on Volume One is honestly worth checking out. Most recently, Anomaly released a couple of new tracks thanks to Subduktion and Safe Space.
One of my favorite things about Anomaly Music Collective, is their goal of “improving the amount of collaboration amongst artists in any genre or style of music.” Partnering with Andrew Luck, a sound and technology specialist at the learning research organization foundry10, was a very solid decision and opens many doors for all types of local musicians to learn and develop new skills.
Creating this connection gives kids the opportunity to get hands on experience with software like Ableton, Creative Live, as well as other programs & hardware that is almost always quite expensive.
On Sunday August 21st Anomaly is hosting a get together at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle and we encourage all aspiring producers to get involved. Bring your music, bring some food, and be prepared to have a good time!
A couple of the Anomaly artists also have an event coming up here in Seattle with Etopia & the Altered Visions team. Clifford & Subduktion will play ‘The Underground’ for the third installment of Utopia Underground. Join them on September 2nd for just $5 if you get pre-sales now at etopiaevents.com/
