On Saturday, Alex Cade surprised us by dropping his cinematic visuals for his new track “Get the Trippin.” From the overwhelming response from his fans following the Friday release of the track, Cade couldn’t resist. With the track already at peak sauce from Cade’s vicious delivery over Axthentic’s raucous beat, you’d think it couldn’t get any more vivid. But, under the direction of Seattle’s prominent shooter, Chase Fade, the track came to life in a completely new way.
Alex Cade has been relatively quiet since his time as a finalist in MoPop’s SoundOff! Music showcase competition and subsequent Bumbershoot performance last year. This quietness is completely reflective of the groundwork Cade’s been laying with his team to truly build. This is the first single he’s put out this year. So, you have to think he’s using this as an announcement. It seems like you can only expect explosive moves from Cade moving forward.
“Get the Trippin” is a huge track. It comes in on a ringing sample that makes you feel like you just entered a real-life Mortal Kombat match. The booming percussion feels like a slap in the face. Before you know it, Cade unleashes coy yet unrelenting bars over every inch of the track. The music video is a perfect pairing to the single. It shows an entertaining mixture of the squad turning up, action-flick shots of Cade, and a funny golfing match. The video has a clear narrative arc that shows that Cade and co mean business.

Lex Nikol wrote the storyline that illustrates a more humorous look at what happens when anyone steps to Cade and his crew. As the video devolves into a Jackass-style golfcart race, you see that no matter the situation, Cade comes out on top. With his comfortable ability to flow between braggadocious bar delivery and smooth R&B vocals, it’s safe to say he has a bright future.
As a kid that came from Detroit that has been calling Seattle home for a while now, Alex Cade has already garnered immense respect in the local scene. He seems to be working with nothing but key figures from Seattle that will undoubtedly propel him forward. Get ready for bigger and better moves from Alex in the coming months. In the meantime, run up his new visuals for “Get the Trippin” below and grab the popcorn because it’s a flick.
