This past week, I had the rare opportunity to sit down with Akon, the global icon known for songs with Eminem, Young Jeezy, and countless other amazing talents, along with SHEESH, who are two emerging artists that are making serious moves. SHEESH isn’t just another duo trying to break through. They’re real-life siblings and the energy they bring is magnetic. Their chemistry is natural, their delivery is sharp, and the stories they tell through their music are raw and real.
Fresh off the release of their track “Ghetto Livin’” featuring Akon, the duo pulled up to the Catalyst lounge already in motion — new mixtape on the way, media tour buzzing, and the full support of one of music’s most influential entrepreneurs behind them. This was about to become an incredibly special episode of the Respect My Region Podcast, powered by Hightail and their Black Market Hemp drinks.
SHEESH and Akon: A Global Co-Sign You Can’t Ignore
Akon, known for building stars from the ground up, didn’t just co-sign these guys — he signed them to Konvict Kulture and is actively building out their foundation for global success.
Originating from Chicago’s West Side, the duo’s journey has been anything but typical. Their family relocated to Elkhart, Indiana in pursuit of a safer life, but the brothers brought their city’s soul with them.
Raised in a household rooted in music, L.N.S. and BIG SKI inherited a legacy of sound — and turned brotherhood into collaboration. Over the years, they honed their skills in studios, on the streets, in studios, and ultimately, through shared time behind bars.
That’s where the story gets real.
Prison could’ve been the end.
Instead, it became fuel.
The brothers treated their time as a bootcamp for greatness — writing, plotting, and building a vault of music the world had yet to hear. It’s that lived experience — the pain, the pressure, the purpose — that you hear in every bar.
And it’s exactly what caught the attention of Akon.
The contrast between the two makes them even more compelling. L.N.S. carries himself as a proud father and provider, while BIG SKI leans into the free-spirited bachelor lifestyle.

The duality is real — and their symbiotic chemistry is undeniable. Inventive melodies. Razor-sharp lyricism. Big flows. SHEESH isn’t just a name — it’s a whole energy that came from the sound that Akon made when he first heard their music.
SHEESH x Akon: A Movement in the Making
Their latest release, “Ghetto Livin’” featuring Akon, is more than a song — it’s a statement.
And it’s just the start.
Backed by Konvict Kulture, SHEESH is gearing up to release a full mixtape that blends pain, perseverance, and polished execution.
Akon made it clear during our interview: he’s not just signing artists — he’s building business and supporting the right type of art.
SHEESH has the story, the style, and the sound to make a global impact.
