La Fonda’s “Let You Go” is My New Break-Up Anthem

God willing, nobody would ever have to experience a toxic relationship. But, the truth of the matter is, humanity is a dumpster fire and people will hurt you. And while ending those unsavory relationships is a powerful act of self-love, it also hurts like hell. The newest single from Seattle’s La Fonda, “Let You Go,” is a glorious testament to the trials and tribulations that an aching heart must trudge through in order to heal.

Let You Go” is our comeback tale from the unexpected tidal wave of heartbreak we thought might drown us,” said the band in a press statement. “The band recorded what would become our anthem in helping us heal from a toxic relationship while trapped in a little studio in Wallingford, WA during one of Seattle’s heaviest snowstorms on record.”

This track is soulful, vulnerable and groovy all at once. The soundtrack one might picture singing along to while driving alone, at 3am, in the center lane on an empty highway, with mascara running down your face, puffing a cigarette through a smile of victory because you dumped their ass. The long-notes of the chorus provide ample room for choking sobs between lines as you belt your love away. But the most important facet of this song is the thread of hope throughout. Although this separation is heartbreaking, it is ultimately an act of self love and reclamation.

I Think I Need To Let You Go

The new single also sees vocalists, sisters and founding members Valerie & Veronic Topacio behind the lens. The pair directed and produced the accompanying music video, an intimate and neon-lit montage of the art of moving on.

“Let You Go” follows the release of “Burning on the Sun,” which dropped in June. Both tracks are in support of their upcoming debut album, slated for release in 2021.

La Fonda also released a fun “Acoustic Jam Session” on their youtube in promotion for the new track to keep you satiated while you wait for their debut album. You can listen to “Let You Go” and find their other music here.
