NBA 2K is set to release the newest installment of their historic gaming franchise with Damien Lillard as their new cover athlete for NBA 2K21. It’s been a long time coming, especially since Dame D.O.L.L.A. is 8 years into his famed career with the Portland Trailblazers. Dame has put in serious work as he is the 2012-2013 Rookie of the Year, 4-time ALL-NBA selection, and 5 time NBA All-Star.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reported this news first, which was confirmed later by 2k.
Damian Lillard spoke on his love for 2K and excitement to be showcased so much on the upcoming NBA 2K21 game. Lillard stated: “This is a special moment for me in my NBA career,” Lillard said in a statement. “I’ve been a fan of NBA 2K for years and love how they represent all aspects of basketball culture. I’m an avid 2K player, so I’m honored to join the other NBA greats who have been on the cover. I’m grateful to all my fans and can’t wait for everyone to experience the game later this year.”
The NBA 2K21 soundtrack features 52 songs spanning across hip-hop, R&B, electronic, pop, and rock for the older consoles, but will host 202 songs on next-gen consoles (PS5, X Box Series X) that include 2 exclusive songs from Dame D.O.L.L.A. himself that will drop September 4.
