The “Entity” music video from Nobi hits on so many different levels. The first thing your eyes are treated to is a bright and beautiful wreath of flowers from Moon Bloom Floral. A light melody starts to play as his voice comes in while a stop-motion title sequence plays. Casually, but with firm intention, Nobi starts firing off bar after bar of conscious lyrics.
I am your regular citizen, uh.
I am your regular innocent, uh.
I would have died with my hands up, uh.
I would have died for not listening, uh.
They took my life around witnesses
Nobody asking who did this shit
Then they label us criminals
If there’s a trial, then they get acquitted, shit.
The variety of rhyme schemes coupled with his apathetic tone of voice and simplistic cinematography make for a stunningly impactful video. Nobi looks like royalty as his skin glows under the floral headdresses that give life to the pitch-black background.
James Gerde is the talented man behind the camera who helped make the “Entity” music video happen alongside theDGTL, Captured by Zac and Phillip Peterson of House of Breaking Glass. This team is unstoppable. They continue to raise the bar with everything they do and it’s no question that 2020 will be Nobi’s breakout year.
