Majestic Talks New Single “Not Over Yet” And State Of EDM In The UK

While some people behind the turntables simply mix and match, twist knobs and pump up the crowd, Majestic is much more than your average producer and DJ. As someone who started as an MC in North London, Majestic has set himself up far away from any boundaries of your typical DJ. Crossing genres while performing tunes from the Garage, House, Dubstep and Drum and Bass genres, Majestic can be found performing with the likes of Netsky, MJ Cole, Jack Beats, Shy FX, Laidback Luke, Nero and more.

The underground scene throughout the UK has brought up this multi-talented individual and he’s slowly taking over much more than just the European electronic scene. Ahead of his big show at Docklands Festival in Southampton, UK on September 28th Majestic looks to do exactly what he does best, which is to get everybody on the dance floor moving.

How are things going overseas right now in the UK electronic music scene?

Amazingly strong! From house to bass to drum and bass it seems that the UK sound is spreading far and wide and long may that continue!

What makes it unique compared to other countries’ scenes?

I think the fact our country is a melting pot of cultures creates a lot of interesting and unique sounds! There are so many inspirations taken from different musical backgrounds to create one sound.

We hear you’ll be featuring at Docklands Festival in Southampton (UK) on 28th September – how excited are you about this festival?

Festivals are amazing! The energy is second to none as so many people are so excited that you naturally feel their vibrations through the energy projected off them. Docklands is going to be very special!

What sort of projects have you been working on?

It’s been a mad few months! My summer tour has seen so over 80 shows this summer with around 70 plus flights! Whilst doing all that I released 2 singles and remixed for the likes of Diplo, Craig David, Ava Max, Mahalia to name a few.

How has the feedback been for “Not Over Yet” featuring Patti Low? It’s a fantastic track by the way.

Thank you so much! Feedback has been amazing people seem to take to vocal-heavy house music! With it also being a classic vocal I think that helps.

Where did you find the inspiration for that one?

I adore the original grace record that came out in 1995 and when I found out that my friends mum was the singer I was like I HAVE to do a version of this tune.

What would you like to accomplish the rest of the year and maybe even into early next year?

I want to get more and more music out! It’s been my weakest point in recent years I would make music but never release it! So more releases, please.

What’s one thing that you’ve had to overcome while building your musical career?

I would say managing my mental health positively! I am very open and am proud to be open that I am someone who has suffered from depression during my journey! Now I am in a really good place and have learned lots along the way.

What’s one piece of advice that you would give to someone that desperately needed it?

Be grateful for everything.

We hope to see you in Seattle soon – when could we expect you to play here?!

I would love to play in such an amazing City and me and the team have the US in our sites for 2020!!!
