“CPU Luv” is the lead single from Dave B on his much-anticipated album BLUE, set to release on June 7th. Produced by Sango and Wax Roof, the critically acclaimed rapper and crooner out of Seattle craves the same love that enamors his peers with their digital devices. Directed by Lea Godoy and Kyle McCarty, the video parodies the classic advertising campaign from the 1990s done by Microsoft featuring it’s founder Bill Gates.
Dave explains that his inspiration for “CPU Luv” came during a trip with some friends. He noticed everyone was always staring at their phone. They were so locked in, to the point that they would be unresponsive. He felt that it was a good example of the generation today. Dave B doesn’t require a lot of attention, he just wants you to love him, “like you do your computer, love.”
“CPU Luv” follows Dave B’s teaser track 48 which was premiered by Hypebeast who proclaimed, “one of the most talented rappers in the northwest is Dave B, a versatile multi-talented artist from Seattle who blends both witty bars with smooth melodies into a sound that’s all his own.” Come celebrate the album release with Dave B during his hometown performance June 22nd at the Showbox.
