For most artists, the pieces never seem to come together despite their strong consistent work ethic. In 2013, the veteran Xperience finally was paid dues opening on Macklemore’s sold out world tour and then saw the rise of the veteran rap supergroup TH3RDZ, with JFK and Candit. The Olympia based rapper has had a long career in this game and the panel acknowledged how hard he has always worked for his music to be heard. In addition to the tour and TH3RDZ, the vet released the Danger on the Road EP which Q Dot admitted was a personal favorite of his.
Despite Xperience’s moves and activity over the past 6-8 months, the panel was instantly conflicted about his placement over Sol. As stated previously, Sol managed to do what few artists will ever do and that’s take a complete break from music for nine months, and yet almost triple your audience. In the end, it came down to being known outside of the town and while Q Dot and Luvva J campaigned for the veteran, they could not argue that more areas of the Northwest are familiar with Sol. Thus, the panel voted and in a 4-2 vote Sol leapfrogs Xperience for #7, dropping XP to #8, and sets his eyes on the #6 slot! Do you agree that Sol’s inactivity trumps Xperience’s street grind?
