RMR is excited to launch ‘Neighborhood Watch’, a new blog series dedicated to showcasing your city’s best options for local food and legal cannabis. It’s important to us that we stay in touch with the college lifestyle so this week we’re featuring Seattle’s U-District.
The U-District is better known as the area surrounding the University of Washington, home of the Huskies. The college district houses some great food and weed spots with a hometown feel that won’t break the bank for those surviving on financial aid and student loans.
U-District’s Best Cannabis
The best places to purchase legal marijuana in U-District is at American Mary and OZ Recreational Cannabis. American Mary is located right on The AVE (University Way.) You won’t have to go far to find whatever cannabis products you’re looking for. American Mary offers online ordering and has a pretty decent selection of flower and oils.
Cannabis OZ is off University Way but is the spot to go for stoners on a student budget. With $20 eighths and $130 ounces, this is where students can stay elevated even on a tight budget.
U-District’s Best Food Options
Respect My Region’s top two places to eat in U-District includes EJ Burger and Hawaiian BBQ – UW. Both places offer affordable prices and unique flavors.
EJ Burger is your classic American lunch with some Asian flare. Offering unique burgers like a panko breaded pork burger or a classic with the works. So far, they’ve nailed it every time. This menu also has options like fish baskets and vegetarian options, giving more options for your picky friends.
Hawaiian BBQ-UW offers affordable late night sit in eating, perfect for any late night study break or a serious case of the munchies. They offer authentic Hawaiian dishes that will seem familiar if you’re a fan of Asian cuisine but has it’s own unique spice and flavor profiles. For around $10 you’ll get filled up and most likely take some left-overs home. Any college students knows getting two meals for the price of one is an offer hard to refuse.
