The Bad Tenants are a trio of the jazziest badasses this side of the genre. The three got started together in Bellingham and it’s been nothing but high flying since. Each one of them has their own dynamic that they bring to the group, which clearly impacts their music style.
Meet the music:
Casey G
Casey, or C-Spot, started playing the trombone at age 11, and is still killing it to this day. Providing the foundation of bars for the crew, his wordplay is witty and light hearted.
Good Matters
Matt Goodwin – scratch that, reverse it – Good Matters, bangs out bars along side C-Spot. His golden voice charms crowds like an old school crooner. Not to mention his shiny black saxophone that steals the live show.
DJ Idlhnds
Pronounced Idle Hands, his hands ironically are never idle. Scratching, flipping, and mixing the beat, Idlhnds kicks an old school vibe. It’s always cool when a DJ isn’t afraid to snag the mic and kick a 16 or two.
“Mostly People” was their last album recorded all the way back in 2015, and since then I’ve been wondering when I’d get my new music fix from them. Then I heard that they dropped their new single “Altitude Check” last week.
They take you up with the birds in this high flying song. The energy in this tune makes it seem like they’ve been gathering energy over the past couple of years gearing up to attack. The Bad Tenants are always good for those amazing couple of days when it’s actually sunny out. Spark up, fly high, and don’t forget to check your altitude!
