Brittanie and I were contacted by Bro Safari’s team prior to Paradiso Festival and as you can imagine, we were PUMPED.
We were able to spend a few minutes with him before his set where we discussed what inspired him to get into music, Zomboy’s remix to his most recent single, ‘Follow’, and which concert he attended that would qualify as his all-time fave.

When we asked what Bro Safari’s favorite concert was as an attendee, we learned that he went to a Bad Religion show at 13 years old that was one of the only shows that really stood out growing up. He also mentioned that at a very young age he gravitated towards music and that punk rock was his first true musical love. Growing up in a family full of artists, music was a huge part of his life and he started off writing songs for a guitar around 12 years old.
Since Bro Safari is considered an icon, I couldn’t help but ask if he had anything helpful to say to lesser-known producers everywhere.
His response was priceless.
“Stick to your gut. Always do what you want to do. Don’t do what you think will make you popular because you may actually become successful and then you’re making music you don’t want to make. I know that that is going on in the scene now.
People are making tracks that they aren’t that happy with but its working for them. I think it’s really important to keep your integrity intact and don’t just take the easy option to get to where you want to be. It takes a lot of work and a lot of time.
You know, I’m 37. I’m a dinosaur in the scene trying to retain relevancy with a bunch of young guys. I bust my ass to do that. I bust my ass just as hard now as I did when I first started out.
If someone hands something to you, its going to be great for a little while before it goes away. The shelf life for all of this is very very short. Nobody remembers a song after a week so you’ve got to take the hit and stick to quality over quantity.” – Bro Safari
