Best Of NorthWest: Pay Attention to These Local Artists!

The goal of this ‘Best Of NorthWest’ series is to share the best music from artists found around the Pacific Northwest. RMR believes in sharing what we consider to be, quality music, and we want to share it out to as many of our readers as possible.

For this series, there’s no particular order or ranking because we feel each track is special in its own way. We will consider all types of dance music and will compile a ten artist list each month featuring music that myself, Lauren Bergeson, and Brittanie Chambers will be reviewing. Since RMR first started working in the local music industries, we have been a leader in the sharing of new original music, recorded sets and mixes, as well as remixes from local artists.

Each of us are actively searching for new music all the time and we all attend various nightlife events and festivals going on across the region. We encourage you all to reach out  and please continue or start to share your music with us!

I truly enjoy hearing new music from local artists and I hope you enjoy what I’ve put together for this month. #PNWlove

Best Of NorthWest (November 2015)

1: AMF is a Seattle duo who specializes in the production of #superslappers. After listening to a few of Andy Kutner & Grey Tsosie’s tracks, I’m sure you’ll be understand what I mean when I say that their music hits you in the face exactly like an AMF. Stay tuned for more bangers from these guys when they release their next EP

2: Beauflexx was featured in our #1 spot last month after delivering an awesome opening set for Big Gigantic’s Spokane show. This month we’re featuring his opening set from FreakNight 2015 and you can definitely expect more #slappers coming from DJ Beauflexx.

3: Instant Party! is one of my favorite producers and continues to release music that inspires me to break out of traditional norms. He produces fire remixes and his original tracks are improving with each new track. Check out this fire remix of Jaymes Young’s ‘Two More Minutes’ and let us know what you think! If you’re a fan, I highly suggest going and checking out some of Instant Party!’s older tracks.

4/5: BL3R is proving to be one of the most successful dance music artists in the PNW today and is most deserving of two spots here on our list. More than a few tracks have received support from some of the biggest names in the world and they’re constantly releasing new FIRE music. Generally I bump at least one BL3R track a day and I’m excited to share these two!

‘WTF IS WRONG’ is what I consider to be a #superslapper and will definitely be in my daily rotation for the next few weeks!

I don’t quite understand why people hate on DJ Carnage so much when he produces DOPE festival music that usually gets remixed into something even more dope. Shouts to BL3R for this fire remix of Carnage & Junkie Kid’s ‘The Sound’. This kind of music is exactly what I need in my life.

6: SixFour is arguably one of the dopest new artists I’ve come across since I started to expand  my knowledge of local DJ/producers. Shouts to B-Legit for making the connection between RMR and WSU’s incredible talent pool. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed when you hear these two bass-heavy #slappers.

7: Macfie, aka James Cathy, is a 25 year old producer and DJ from Boise, ID. He is based in Pullman and is starting to gain momentum as he progressives further into the PNW dance music scene. Macfie produces some dope music and loves to keep dance floors active with electro progressive basslines, Melbourne kickers and future house grooves. Check out one of his most recent tracks down below!

8: Zeekenex’s style defies most genre stereotypes.  ‘Bubble Riot’ isn’t exactly something you’ve probably heard before unless you spend a good amount of time exploring new genres of bass music and more specifically hybrid trap. I’m not sure I would ever bump this in my car or headphones, but if it came on at a club or festival, I definitely wouldn’t pass on the opportunity to go extra hard for a drop or two!

9: Sneaky Rafiki is an artist we pretty much know absolutely nothing about. Aside from the fact he’s from Tacoma we know that he has one of the most comical artist names we’ve ever seen and that producing dubstep appears to be his signature sound. Hopefully we’ll come across more music here soon!

10: Vacuity is another northwest artist from Vancouver, Canada and is relatively unknown to our site! So far we know that he produces grimy bass music and that a few of these remixes are fire. We highly recommend giving his soundcloud a follow and checking out the rest of his music!

“Twerk music for you to mosh to.” – Vacuity

If you happen to be one of those artists who feels left out or a bit unnoticed here in the northwest region. We suggest you refrain from badmouthing other artists, promotion companies, or even us, and instead focus on properly presenting yourself to potential fans everywhere.
