SoCal Wienerfest 2026 Brings Together Dachshund Lovers, Great Brands, and a Strong Sense of Community in Huntington Beach

Southern California is home to countless festivals throughout the year, but few events combine family fun, pet culture, and community quite like SoCal Wienerfest. Held in Huntington Beach, the annual SoCal Wienerfest event has become one of the largest gatherings of dachshund lovers in the country, bringing together thousands of dogs, owners, vendors, and animal enthusiasts for a full day dedicated to man’s best friend.

While the famous dachshund races continue to be one of the biggest attractions, SoCal Wienerfest is much more than a series of races. The event offers shopping, food, entertainment, contests, photo opportunities, and a chance for dog owners to connect with others who share the same passion for their pets.

One of the highlights of this year’s event was the incredible variety of vendors.

For many dachshund owners, finding healthy food and treats can be surprisingly difficult. Walk into most pet stores and you’ll find shelves full of products containing fillers, artificial ingredients, preservatives, and unnecessary additives.

On top of that, many of these products come with premium price tags. We were able to find custom clothes for Dachschunds, affordable pet-friendly treats for dogs from Wild Life Treats, and a low-impact dog harness from Gooby.

The event brought together numerous brands focused on healthier alternatives, natural ingredients, and products specifically designed with pet wellness in mind. Instead of simply reading labels online, attendees had the opportunity to speak directly with company representatives, ask questions about ingredients, and learn more about what goes into the products they feed their dogs.

Even better, many vendors offered demonstrations and product samples throughout the day. This allowed the dogs themselves to become the true judges.

Rather than owners guessing which treats their pets might enjoy, the dogs had the chance to sample different products and show exactly what they liked. Watching dozens of dachshunds eagerly test new treats quickly became one of the most entertaining parts of walking through the vendor area.

Several companies also showcased innovative pet accessories, supplements, toys, grooming products, and wellness-focused solutions that many attendees may not have discovered otherwise.

For dog owners looking to improve their pet’s quality of life, the festival offered plenty of opportunities to learn about new products while supporting smaller businesses that genuinely care about animal health.

Outside of the shopping experience, attendees could enjoy a selection of food vendors throughout the beach-area parking lot.

While the event wasn’t centered around food, there were enough options available to keep visitors satisfied throughout the day. We enjoyed the garlic noodles with chicken and shrimp.

The atmosphere throughout the festival was positive from start to finish. Families, couples, groups of friends, and dog owners from all over California gathered together to celebrate their pets.

We really enjoyed seeing our Dachschund, Benito Antonio, smell all the other dogs and play with a few of them.

Everywhere you looked there were dachshunds in strollers, weens in costumes, puppies, fat sausages, and human meeting new friends, and owners proudly showing off their four-legged family members.

The Huntington Beach setting only added to the experience. With the ocean nearby and plenty of open space, the event captured everything people love about Southern California’s outdoor culture. Beaches, the sun, the ocean, and lots of dogs.

Of course, with thousands of people and dogs attending, there were moments when certain areas became crowded.

What stood out most was how attentive and caring owners were toward their pets throughout the day.

Many small-breed dog owners are used to picking up their pet once they’re tired or walking them is difficult or dangerous. The areas that were congested saw tons of dachschunds being held by their owners, with comments from unsuspecting bystanders saying, “Oh, one just licked my elbow.”

Others picked up their dogs when walking across areas where the sand had become hot under the afternoon sun. These small actions may seem insignificant, but they reflected something much bigger. They demonstrated how much people genuinely care about their animals.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of SoCal Wienerfest was seeing thousands of dog owners gathered together, all making thoughtful decisions to ensure their pets remained comfortable, safe, and happy throughout the event.

People were sharing pet poop bags, providing water, finding shade, carrying tired dogs, or simply paying attention to their pet’s needs by giving them a break, or giving them some much needed space. The level of care on display was impossible to miss.

That sense of responsibility and love is ultimately what makes events like SoCal Wienerfest so special. While the races, vendors, food, and entertainment all contribute to the experience, the true highlight is seeing a community of people who genuinely view their dogs as members of the family.

As SoCal Wienerfest continues to grow each year, it remains one of the most unique and enjoyable pet-focused events in Southern California. Between the healthy product discoveries, engaging vendors, family-friendly atmosphere, and thousands of happy dogs enjoying the day, the 2026 edition proved why this event has become a must-attend gathering for dachshund lovers and dog owners alike.

For anyone considering attending next year, come prepared for a fun day, bring plenty of water, arrive early, and most importantly, bring your love for dogs. You’ll fit right in.
