The song that’s gained a spot in literally all the top charts despite being an older release, “Cruel Summer” speaks to the souls of countless with a chorus that’s hard for many to keep from belting out. Love it or hate it, there’s no escape from the T Swift phenomenon. The song is catchy as hell, so I’d say just go with it.
Doja Cat – “Paint the Town Red”
Consistently climbing a number of charts is “Paint the Town Red.” From TikTok to the radio, this song gets multiple plays a day because it’s a chill tune that manages to be danceable at the same time. This song finds its way in your head rent free, and it will stay there, and you’ll honestly probably like it.
SZA – “Snooze”
The title for this track speaks for itself. It’s a vulnerable, soft, and sultry ballad made for pillow talk moments. “Snooze” has such a cozy vibe, and it’s honestly perfect to cuddle up to during this sweater weather (even if it’s not actually sweater weather where you’re at, you can pretend, okay?)
Tate McRae – “Greedy”
Next up on Hot Music Friday, “Greedy” is a dance song showing off Tate McRae’s vocal ranges with silky electronic beats. A song of temptation, this groove is giving us just a taste of what’s to come in Tate McRae’s album releasing in December. I’m sure there’s going to be plenty more bops to come.
Jack Harlow – “Lovin on Me”
An expert in quick and witty lyricism, Jack Harlow has done it again with his latest hit. Along with the clever humor, “Lovin on Me” is also honest and backed by fluid R&B cadences. On top of all that, the music video is worth checking out just for the star alone. The puppy, not Jack Harlow.
DOECHI & Kodak Black – “What It Is (Block Boy)”
While released earlier in the year, this tune has made its way up quite high in American Top 40 as well as started to climb Billboard Hot 100, and it definitely deserves a shout out. This bop has such a dope remix of Gorillaz’s “What It Is.” If this isn’t already in your hip-hop playlist, it should be.
Bad Bunny – “MONACO”
It’s hard to imagine you haven’t heard this one as it’s taken the world by storm. Orchestral melodies in the background of Bad Bunny’s bars and trap beats give this billboard success a luxurious tone that goes hard as hell. This reggaetonero will undoubtedly keep making moves and be back on this list at some point or another.
The Beatles “Now And Then”
There’s no way I couldn’t mention this blast from the past that I think is a gift to the world that we didn’t know we needed. “Now And Then” is considered The Beatles’ LAST SONG stemming from an incomplete demo by John Lennon and completed by the rest of the band after his passing.
