This week RMR is continuing our segment New Music Monday where we share fire music from the past week. Today, we have some great songs as well as an album spotlight for you to check out!
A lot of incredible tunes were released this week across multiple genres. For this episode, we are again focusing on new hip-hop and electronic songs, as well as some pop-influenced tracks. Our list includes Curren$y, Wuki, Cardi B, ZHU and many more!
“Slide (feat. Dominic Scott)” – Curren$y, Fendi P & G Style
To kick things off on a strong note, Curren$y, Fendi P, G Style and Dominic Scott released an incredible collaboration this week titled “Slide”. The song includes some incredible jazz-influenced guitar, as well as great rapping and a beautifully sung hook. The song combines several genres flawlessly and definitely shows the talent of all the artists involved.
“Sunshine (My Girl)” – Wuki
Wuki released a great tune as well, the song is titled “Sunshine (My Girl),” and it is worth checking out. The song samples the classic tune “My Girl” by The Temptations and adds a super dope electronic beat. Wuki has definitely continued to make a name for himself with remixes and this song is no different, he is able to make the tune his own!
“30 Million”- G Perico & Gotdamnitdupri
G Perico, one of our favorites here at RMR, is back on our list this week with a sick collaboration with Gotdamnitdupri. Once again, G perico is showing his rapping prowess on this track spitting absolute bars about how one day he will make $30 million. Give it a spin you won’t regret it!
“I Suppose” – Knucks, Larry June & Kenny Beats
Knucks, Larry June and Kenny Beats’ new release “I Suppose” has been in our ears recently as well. Larry June has been the king of collaborations this summer and this new track with Knucks is no different. “I Suppose” is Knucks follow up release to his 2022 album Alpha Place. Kenny Beats’ production is super dope and Knucks’ rapping is next level and further proves his unique style. This is definitely the follow up single we were all looking forward to!
“Wires, Deposits, & ACH”- LaRussell, Hokage Simon & Tope
Another incredible collaboration that was released this week is “Wires, Deposits, & ACH” by LaRussell, Hokage Simon and Tope. As well al know, LaRussell has been killing it recently, and teaming up with Hokage Simon and Tope was definitely the right move. This tune is short and sweet clocking in at just under two minutes. LaRussell’s rapping is dope and unique as usual, accompanied by a sick bassline, some sick sound effects and production, he is unstoppable.
“LUXURY LIFE (feat. Coi Leray)” – Busta Rhymes
Possibly the greatest rap track on our list this week Coi Leray and Busta Rhymes’ “LUXURY LIFE”. Lyrically the song is set up as a conversation between the two rappers and overall it is super catchy. The bassline is absolutely tight and full of effects, which is always a plus!
“Bongos” – Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion released their most recent collaboration “Bongos” recently. The track is super fun and full of attitude, with some hilarious and clever lines from both ladies. The production includes, you guessed it, a super cool beat driven by bongos. What else would you expect from these two, other than an absolute banger?
New Music Monday Album Spotlight: Days Before Grace – ZHU
This week we are doing something a little different for New Music Monday, we are featuring ZHU’s entire new record Days Before Grace. From start to finish, the album is incredible, from vocals to production ZHU is at the top of high craft. My personal favorite song on the record is the title track “Days Before Grace,” which starts off slow and then an incredible distorted beat hits the listener. “Days Before Grace” could easily be my favorite song released this year. It is so worth listening to the whole album!
Thanks for reading this week’s New Music Monday, we hope you found some new music to listen to. Make sure to check out our New Music Monday playlist!
