The season two premiere for 50 Cent’s incredibly popular Black Mafia Family series, BMF, kicked off at the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood last Thursday. It was hosted just one night before the digital streaming premiere of the show and featured an Official Black Carpet Event. The screening of the first episode for season two was followed by a star-studded afterparty at Grandmaster Recordings. The evening was truly magical.
Returning for a second hit season, this year’s series dramatizes the inspiring true story of two brothers who rise above the tumultuous streets of southwest Detroit in the late ’80s. Ultimately, they create one of the most influential crime families in the United States, the Black Mafia Family (BMF).
The Official BMF Black Carpet Event saw high-profile guests and select cast members hit the carpet for interviews with publications like HipHopDX, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Revolt, Baller Report, Vibe, The Shade Room, and five to seven others. We saw most, if not all, of these publications talking with the likes of 50 Cent who was joined by one of his sons. As well as Demetrius Flenory Jr. aka Lil Meech, La La Anthony, Da’Vinchi, Steve Harris, Arkeisha “Kash Doll” Knight, Rayan Lawrence, and Yung Miami. Along with numerous other members from the BMF cast.
Special guests for the evening included 2 Chainz, Tee Grizzley, G Herbo, Omarion, and Southside. However, I didn’t see any of them do interviews. Regardless, the energy got notably more excitable once they hit the Black Carpet and entered the theater.
Right before the screening began, 50 Cent stood before the crowd and thanked everyone for attending. He showed some love to the Starz team and shared some exciting news surrounding the future of BMF.

Adding to an evening that was already filled with buzzing energy and excitement, 50 Cent dropped a major bomb on the crowd by sharing that there will be three more spinoffs from the BMF series.
Although he didn’t share details or specifics, the crowd was quite pleased and cheered in support.
Stay tuned for more Respect My Region coverage as details unfold.
The highly anticipated second season of BMF aired this past Friday on Starz at 8 pm ET/PT and is available each week at the same time via Starz.
