5 Restaurants to try on Thanksgiving in NYC 2023

Thanksgiving is here this week, and NYC is one of the world’s most unique and diverse cities. Various food options are available, with different restaurants open for you to enjoy. Whether you are alone, can’t cook, or are sick of traditions. Here is the Respect My Regions Thanksgiving in NYC list.

This Blended list offers a diverse take on Turkey Day with fall and traditional-inspired meals. Alongside the typical cultural variety in some of the most populated boroughs.

1. Wayan

Thanksgiving in NYC

With an Indonesian and French Twist on the traditional Thanksgiving feast, Wayan is pulling out all the stops this year. With Organic Turkey Breast, Brussels sprouts, and squash with ginger-coconut crust. Swap the pumpkin pie with an ube pie and pandan custard with passion fruit flavors. You can also always order a takeout version of this fusion as well. This is pricier, with $98 per person for dine-in and $448 that feeds between 4-6 people. However, this is for those drawn to the fusion aspect.

2. Cafe Mogador

For a non-American take on the holiday, try Cafe Mogador in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, for a Moroccan Thanksgiving. With reservations starting at 5 pm, you can partake in the familiar Mogador dinner menu. With housemade bread and tremendous culinary recognition, this family-made restaurant is the perfect place to share a meal with a loved one. From a Hummus platter and various skewers, this an experience if you want to get away from the turkey. At the same time, enjoying the homey feel of Williamsburg this Thursday.

3.Emporium Brasil

Thanksgiving in NYC

Located in Little Brazil, Emporium Brasil is severing elevated plates this holiday season with another nontraditional experience. You can enjoy a variety of seafood options, pasta, and steaks if you are tired of the Turkey. They also offer savory pastries with fried cheese empanadas and a Fried chicken croquette.  Chef Soares brings Brazilian cuisine to life through her family’s origins. If you are in the Midtown area, try it this Thanksgiving.

4. Loring Place

While this list features nontraditional options, it wouldn’t be right not to include a somewhat classic Thanksgiving dinner. They will be open from 2 pm to 9 pm and serve typical Loring Place classics alongside traditional Thanksgiving favorites. Loring Place features a three-course pre-fixed menu for $150 per person. Try the Turkey plate that includes cranberry chutney, stuffing, mashed potatoes, roasted Turkey, and more Thanksgiving favorites for a traditional feel.
