After bringing Lil Wayne, Rich Homie Quan, K Camp, Lil Dicky and a few others to Everett’s Xfinity Arena last year, Sky Movement’s Dope Music Festival is coming back for year 3 here in the Pacific Northwest!
Sky Movement is co-sponsoring the event with Tacoma recreational cannabis retailer, Two Five Trees, and together they are bringing the festival back to the Tacoma Dome. In year’s past we’ve done a list of reasons to go and year three will be no different. Here are RMR’s 5 reasons to go to Dope Music Festival 3.
It’s put on by Northwest locals!
Sky Movement has pushed hip-hop boundaries here in the Northwest for years! As a company Sky Movement has been one of the major sponsors for Summer Jam and went so far as to host their own stage in the last few years of the festival. Their artists have written songs for Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and most recently on Meek Mill’s DC4.
Clemm Rishad, Rich Penton, and the entire Sky Creative team envisioned playing this venue and they are now hosting a festival featuring one of the dopest line ups I’ve seen in the last few years. Dope Music Festival has officially become one of the largest independent festivals in our region and it is only going to get better.
Gucci Mane
Gucci Mane is coming to the Northwest! I don’t remember the last time Big Guwop was out this way but Facebook has been absolutely hyped about his upcoming performance. Gucci has slimmed down since his most recent time in jail so I’m curious how much energy we’ll see out of him on stage.
Meek Mill x Lil Uzi Vert x Jeremih x William Singe
Outside of Gucci, Dope Music Festival is featuring an all star cast of emerging rap artists. Meek Mill has taken plenty of pop culture L’s this past year but to be honest, DC4 really spoke for itself with quality music. I will be the first to admit I can’t handle Lil Uzi Vert but this young man is buzzing tough and I’m sure the younger generation is stoked.
Jeremih is one of my favorite ‘current’ male vocalists and will be bringing some serious heat to the mix along with Youtube superstar, William Singe. This Australian cover sensation was in Seattle just a few months back and will finally give younger fans a chance to see him perform live.
One of the festival’s hosts is the infamous DJ Drama and he will work the stage alongside locally sourced comic, Nate Jackson. Jackon, who now resides in L.A. hails from Washington and is one of the comics on Nick Cannon’s Wild N’ Out. It should be interesting to see how well these two vibe together.
Start your winter break off right!
For all you high schoolers or college students, Dope Music Festival should be your early Christmas gift. Grab some friends or family and go watch one of the largest local hip-hop concerts to date! December 17th will feature Gucci Mane, Meek Mill, Jeremih, William Singe, Lil Uzi Vert, Russ, Clemm Rishad and Yodi Mac as performers.

Russ x Yodi Mac x Clemm Rishaad
Russ has been blowing up this past year. He hit Seattle and sold out Chop Suey then came back through and sold out Showbox Sodo a few months later. Russ gets major play at the RMR HQ and we’re stoked to catch him in the Northwest again. Thus far into dude’s career he has shown major abilities at writing, producing, and also as a legitimate rapper. His tracks ‘Waste My Time‘ & ‘Off The Strength‘ are straight fire. Needless to say he is primed and ready for the Tacoma Dome!
Clemm Rishad is one of the most established and most slept on artists in the Northwest. The Tacoma native is actually helping to throw Dope Music Festival and has done music with Kurupt, Street Runner, Meek Mill, and quite a few other names within the industry. His newest record ‘What A Feeling’ was produced by Street Runner and is a straight banger!
Yodi Mac is a young up and coming Tacoma talent. His latest project ‘Breakfast APiffNEaze’ alongside producer Waffl’s was dope. He is climbing out of the underground with his new project coming up and we can’t wait to hear more of that.
