You don’t need more than one good reason to listen to a new project from Sam Lachow and Raz Simone because they’re one of the coldest duos in hip-hop. But they’re giving you seven dope reasons to play their 5 Good Reasons EP reboot. The original EP is finally available in full with two brand new songs “Ain’t Good Enough,” and “Ghost Town.”
A “Ghost Town” music video was released in conjunction with 5 Good Reasons. The video was directed by Chase Fade while Xander Knight and Agent M Beats produced the song. The video features old footage of Raz, Lachow, and friends edited to look like grainy VHS home videos. The two remissnesses about their youth, struggles, and successes.
The entire project is just as good as you remember. “The Introduction” was re-imagined with a completely original beat, making its impact even more meaningful. The entire project stands out and feels just as thoughtful.
“Good Reasons” and “Nothing’s Gonna Change” are still vibey and beg to be slapped on a sunny day cruise with the windows down. “Coyotes” and “Money” are still thought-provoking. But its the new addition of “Ghost Town” that makes this one of the few reboots that surpass the original. It’s clear Raz Simone and Sam Lachow’s 5 Good Reasons EP is still one of the best projects in The Town’s illustrious history.
