Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or simply curious, prepare to dive into a diverse array of rhythms that break boundaries and resonate deeply with the soul.

Hamilton, Zaider & The Prodigiez “Madrid”

Hamilton & Zaider incorporate the legendary influences of reggaeton producers, The Prodigiez, to make a dope fusion of reggaeton’s urban sounds with catchy afrobeats for “Madrid.” Truly, this song is a great reminder to live it up in life and appreciate the beauty it has to offer. Equally as important is sharing those kinds of moments with someone special that you connect with easily. We all naturally forget to be present and in the moment, so take some time for yourself while you listen to this song to sit back and relax. Take a breath of fresh air or go cruise if you need to while listening to this. Maybe it’ll inspire you to take the trip you’ve been dreaming of.

Christian Alicea and DJ Buddha “Es Un Secreto”

Next, we have “Es Un Secreto” by Christian Alicea and DJ Buddha. Christian Alicea has added his own personal twist to this hit originally by Plan B to his newly released album, Yo. The salsero is someone you need to pay attention to when it comes to appreciating the next generation of salsa music. Clearly, Christian Alicea is going to be making HUGE splashes in the soundscape. In the music video, you see Alicea showcase more of his interest in both salsa and reggaeton through visuals and lyrics. The intensity and seduction of a relationship so unique and secretive is felt throughout the production.

Peso Pluma, Tito Double P and Joel De La P “LA PEOPLE II”

A new single by Peso Pluma, Tito Double P and Joel De La P, “LA PEOPLE II” brings an edginess to the corridos tumbados genre. Each artist brings grittiness to their delivery of their verses, and you can even almost feel the roughness in the sharp execution of the music coming from the instrumentals. Regardless of how much Spanish you may know, there’s no way you can’t feel the raw passion coming from this song. The source of this passion is family and the concept of sticking by your family no matter what. These three emphasize that while that certainly doesn’t come without tough challenges, loyalty to your fam is incredibly important.

Matt Paris x Joel DELEŌN “DIAMANTE.”

Bringing in a more funk pop vibe in the Spanish-speaking world, Matt Paris and CNCO’s Joel DELEŌN give you “DIAMANTE.” Not only is the catchy single easily able to get you in a lighthearted mood, it’s also pretty poetic when it comes down to the lyricism. The duo compare the strength and glamor of women to a diamond with retro electronic cadences, funky guitar and pop rock bass. The saxophone in the end was also such a fantastic way to wrap the song up. The video itself shows off lust, luxury, intensity and creativity with multiple scenes consisting of romance, cars and a dope glossy background.

Santa Fe Klan, Nicky Jam “UNA RAYA MÁS”

Understandably, it’s hard to forget the feeling of betrayal and hurt from a relationship. There are so many feelings involved, and “UNA RAYA MÁS” describes them all. There’s the point in time where the pain is numbed with alcohol and destructive choices (we’ve all been there) and then comes the enlightenment that life is better off without someone who didn’t care enough to stay faithful. The urban wordplay and regional Mexican vibes from Santa Fe Klan and the dembow-driven beats and flow from Nicky Jam make for an infectious musical combo of cultures. Both artists do a great job of supplying heartfelt vocals throughout the tune to really help you connect with the mood.

Enrique Iglesias, El Alfa “La Botella”

Enrique Iglesias and El Alfa perfectly blend together European electronica with pop, trap and dembow in “La Botella,” Iglesias’ fourth track in his latest album. Final (Vol. 2) is the twelfth and final studio album for the international pop icon that is Iglesias. That makes this record that much more worthy of a listen with “La Botella” being an especially fun option to tear up the dance floor with. The lyricism is cleverly metaphorical in associating the taste and feel of alcohol with a chance encounter with someone just as tempting as “the bottle.” Enrique Iglesias’ sensual vocals with El Alfa’s rapid fire word delivery make for an enjoyably unique production.

Young Miko “Arcoíris”

Young Miko’s new album, att. officially released this month. I had to make sure we threw something in from it for this selection of Sonido Global. The second track from att. “Arcoíris,” shows her having a kick with flirtation and playfulness as she seems to commonly do in her music. The electronic instrumentals are almost video game-like and match the spirited vibe of Young Miko’s flow. Moreover, the visualizer also brings an adorable and fun-filled mood that ties the whole track together. If you like this cheeky track, there’s plenty where that came from in Young Miko’s new album.

Jerry Di “El Diablo”

In the Latino Pop sector, we’ve got Jerry Di coming in with a sound that surpasses just pop. With the bilingual bop Jerry Di performs, I can hear lounge, Afrobeats, R&B, and melodic reggaeton. “El Diablo” is a perfect song to add to your summer playlist, whether it’s for the beach, camping or however you plan to relax, this song will get you feeling right. This artist brings in nothing but feel-good vibes. On top of that, the video shows a really good depiction of the dark sides coming from both ends of a relationship. This back and forth plays so well throughout, “El Diablo,” making for something extremely entertaining.

Maeso, ANUBIIS “Fili Primaveral”

Maeso collaborates with ANUBIIS in this reggaeton ballad about a love from the winter still being missed in the spring even though it never really got the chance to blossom in the first place. “Fili Primaveral” is not the typical fast-based reggaeton rhythm that makes for the foundation of the song. It’s more so that slower, emotional type of reggaeton that tells a story of heartbreak for those that love hard. The hardest part about loving this hard is when it’s one-sided and realizing when to let go. Unfortunately, you can give as much as you can, but you won’t receive anything back no matter how badly you want it. The bleakest messages can also be the most beautiful.

Shakira “Acróstico – Milan + Sasha”

Since Mother’s Day is around the corner, I thought I’d highlight a special track from Shakira’s latest album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, while it’s still fresh. “Acróstico” is a love song to her twin boys. A little fun fact, the lyrics to the song are in fact an acrostic poem that spells out her sons’ names, Milan and Sasha. These two are also featured in the song and the music video. The talent passed down from their mother is already so apparent at such a young age! This song may even get the allergies going as it affectionately describes the unconditional love between a mother and her children and vice versa.

Within the rich fabric of Latin music, the lingering echoes of the closing notes hold promises of further tales to unfold, more rhythms to sway to, and more emotions to stir. Let’s recall that music surpasses linguistic barriers, knitting together bonds across borders and time. If you can’t get enough of that, be sure to come back for more Sonido Global updates and to listen to all additions on our official Spotify playlist!
